Thanksgiving Week: Day 4

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Kelly Noel create an adorable Turkey card!  Here are her instructions....

This card was really simple to make. I used an oval cutter template to create the "feathers" and just cut 2 circles for the turkey's body and head. I used a smaller circle punch to cut the eyes and only cut about 3/4 of the circle leaving a flat edge. I added the legs and the detailing with a brown pen.

This year has been a tough year for me, having lost 2 jobs in the space of about 9 months...but I still have lots to be thankful for...friends, family, my health, etc. And KI Memories goodies, of course!

Wicked Cards!

Welcome back to day four of our Wicked Week!  Today we have a few cards to inspire you to share a little Wicked-ness this Halloween!  Most people probably don't think of Halloween as a card giving holiday, but why not?!  

  

Here are two spook worthy cards by Gretchen McElveen...

 

 


   

I made a few cards this week as well.  The first little one is the one I'm going to slip into my son's school lunch.  It's just a 3" x 3" square of Cobwebs Patterned Cardstock decorated with a Wicked Badge and the Wicked Epoxy Alpha.  For the second card I used a 2" circle as the template to cut the whole in the front of the 5" x 5" card.  I put Cobwebs Patterned Cardstock on the inside of the Skull Soiree Patterned Cardstock card.  I added the eyeball Wicked Badge inside the hole and then used the Wicked Epoxy Alpha to spell 'love you'.  

 

 


   

I got the idea for this card from a party invitation my son brought home yesterday.  I cut the web from the Cobwebs Patterned Cardstock and folded it over the top of the card a bit to create a flap.  I used Wicked Chipboard Accents to decorate the card with scary words and then hid the 'candy' under the flap.

Blog Challenge: Wicked Invitation and Quick Treat Bag

 

Feeling "Spooky" this Halloween? If you are planning to celebrate the scariest time of the year with fellow fiends and ghouls, why not whip up a few cute custom invitations and matching treat bags for your batty friends? Treat bag templates are easy to find on the internet, just Google "Treat Bag Template" and print the design on a scrap piece of cardstock to use as the pattern to trace onto the back of your Wicked papers. I can't wait to see what creepy creative ideas you use to design your own spooky set based on this challenge!

Focus On Flourish Journaling Tags

Have you seen this delightful product....the Flourish Journaling Tags?  If not, you really should check it out.  It's a pad full of designer journaling tags perfect for your Flourish projects.  Journaling can sometimes be hard to place on a layout....so using these awesome tags is a great way to get the job done in style.  Some of the tags have lines already on them for you and others are without so you can use them for even more than journaling.  And some have glitter to boot!  Can't get any better!

 

Here's a layout I made using one of the Flourish Tags for my journaling.  I love how it makes the journaling a design element on the page.

 

I was browsing through the KI Gallery and found several great ideas for the Flourish Tag Pad.  Here Celeste Smith used one as a base for her title.

 

And we featured this card from Gretchen McElveen a few weeks ago for Focus on Cards but I thought it was a great example of using a Flourish Tag on a card.  She used it to hold the card sentiment.  

 

And this is a fantastic layout by Tracy Miller.  She actually cut the center out of the Flourish Tags and backed the frame with black cardstock.  They now become a cool design element on her page.  Very clever!

Focus On Pop Art Stickers!

Have you taken a good look at the newest Pop Art Stickers?  They are 3-dimensional stickers with fancy additions like glitter, jewels, and even fuzzies!

And I had a little fun with my Wicked Pop Art Stickers.  I used three of the eyeballs for this silly but fun card...

KI Kindergarten : Best Friends Forever : A Card Class

Happy World Cardmaking Day!  

In honor of the holiday we are sharing a FREE card class using KI Memories Friendship.  This class consists of three 5" x 5" cards each with an entertaining paper technique.  The focus of this  class is using patterned paper to create embellishments that can be repeated easily, whether on cards or layouts.  By using patterned paper as the main design and adding a few other embellishments here and there the cards can be reproduced relatively inexpensively.  The cards are perfect to give as a set to a friend....or mailed to your three best friends.  As with all KI Kindergarten Classes we have a free PDF download with photos and instructions.  Download the file below.
