KI Memories Puffies are so detailed and adorable, they make the perfect finishing touch on so many different projects! I recently created this hot air balloon decoration for my daughters bedroom, and used the white and silver star Puffies to adorn the balloon.
This was so easy to make. I used a Honeycomb Tissue Ball from a large party supply store for the balloon, an empty plastic square container for the basket, along with some fabric, baker's twine, white and pink crepe tissue streamers (also from the party store) ribbon and my glue gun to put it all together.
First, I cut 4 lengths of baker's twine and glued it in four places around the tissue ball for the basket strings. Then, starting at the back seam in the tissue ball, I glued 4 layers of pink streamers around the ball, covering the spots where I glued the twine. Then I hand cut some scallops out of fabric and glued those under the lowest layer of the pink crepe streamers. I finished the top of the pink streamer layer with a glittery ribbon, some white crepe paper rosettes, and the KI Memories Puffies. The rosette/puffies were placed above the basket strings, and the silver stars in the spaces between.
Then, I simply wrapped the square plastic container with fabric, hot glued into place, and punched four holes using an awl into the top edges for the strings to tie onto the basket. Once I made sure the basket was hanging straight, and all the twine was tied taught onto the basket, I finished decorating the balloon with some ribbon to match the bedding in my daughter's room, and one last KI Memories Puffie star onto the front of the basket. I found a little toy elephant to go for a ride, and I hung it over her crib with some napkin flowers and rosette decorations I made for her first birthday party!
I loved how it turned out, and Maggie is delighted to watch it floating up above her bed!
