Oh my goodness! Are you ready for Day 7 of our 12 Days of Christmas special? A lazy Sunday is the perfect time to try some of these fabulous gift wrap ideas. KI Design Team Member Staci Etheridge got super creative with her fun ideas!!
From Staci: Two things are automatically part of my holiday season…baking and crafting! Everyone in the family starts making foodie gift requests at Thanksgiving, so by the end of December, I’m ready to go! I know there are lots of us who are giving candies and cookies this year, so here’s some fun ways to package them up as gifts!
Containers 1 & 2: Altered Crystal Lite container
(Save
containers throughout the year to
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!)
1. Cover container with patterned paper. Add handcut paper circles to lids.
2. Container 1 – handcut tree from patterned paper. Adhere string to back and wrap around tree. Embellish with buttons. Adhere to container with foam squares.
3. Container 2 – Cover a chipboard circle with patterned paper. Trim Christmas trees from paper to create petals and distress as desired (mine are inked, scraped, and folded). Layer “petals” and adhere to back of chipboard circle. Add badge sticker and handcut heart. Tie string into bow and attach chipboard to bow ends. (I punched a hole through a chipboard oval to tie a knot through.)
Ornament Tag
1. Handcut 2 patterned paper circles. Layer them front
and back and stitch through both, approximately 75% of the way around. Stuff
with polyfill (or cotton balls, tp, etc) and finish stitching.
2. Draw and cut mittens. Add string to backs. Adhere to ornament.
3. Apply rub-on to white cardstock. Trim out alphas and attach to chipboard banner. Adhere banner to mitten string and ornament.
4. Attach to takeout box with ribbon bow.
Baker Box
1. Paint bakers box.
2. Punch two small holes in lid. Punch two small holes in chipboard to create a button.
3. Loosely stitch chipboard button to box lid. (Leave some slack for the ribbon wrapping.)
4. Take a length of ribbon and wrap from box bottom to top. One side of ribbon wraps around bottom of button towards top of box. Other side of ribbon wraps around top of button towards bottom of box.
Tin
1. Wrap paper around tin. (I had to use two lengths of paper, seamed together to fit around my tin.)
2. Cut and adhere snowflake. Embellish with rhinestones. (I used a Cricut diecut, but check out papersnowflakes.com for templates to handcut snowflakes.)
3. Wrap ribbon around tin and tie through holes of snowflake.
4. Stamp label, trim out and tie to snowflake.
Box
1. Use template or digital cutter to create box.
2. Using double-sided paper, I created a bow using this tutorial.
