Welcome to Day 2 of our Thanksgiving Week Festivities!
Today DT Member Gretchen Mcelveen prepared a mini album to share. Gretchen designed this album so that you could make the base of the album first and then add your Thanksgiving photos and journaling afterward. This way you can get a jumpstart!
Don't forget.....Each day we'll have a new giveaway, so be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win! The winner will be announced on the original post.
Now for Gretchen's fabulous album.....
(Here are a few pages, the rest can be seen along with the instructions below.)
KI Memories Supplies:
Heirloom Simply Cute Cardstock Stickers
Misc supplies:
recycle a cardboard box for the cover your mini-album
1 binder ring (this can be gotten at an office supply store or Wal-Mart!)
matching cardstock (kraft cardstock is used in this example)
hole punch
corner rounder
border punches
1. Start making your album by recycling a cardboard box to make the front and back covers. Cut cardboard to make cover measuring 3.5 inches wide x 4.5 inches tall (or whatever size you would like to make!). Peel layers off of the cardboard to create a "messy" look for your cover.
2. Using patterned paper from the Family Time 12x12 Paper Pad, cut a large heart and adhere to front cover of your album.
3. Using Heirloom Simply Cute Cardstock Stickers, spell out "Thanksgiving" on the inside of the front cover.
4. The pages of the album measure 3.25 inches wide x 4.25 inches tall (or whatever size you would like to make!). The first page of the album is a solid piece of patterned paper from the Heirloom 12x12 Paper Pad. For the rest of the pages, start with solid pieces of patterned paper from either the Heirloom 12x12 Paper Pad or the Family Time 12x12 Paper Pad (these papers work great together!). Then add ~2 in. piece of a different patterned paper to the bottom of each page. Using solid cardstock, create a border to go over the seam between the 2 patterned papers (use strips of paper, border punches, paper tearing, etc.). Repeat this process to make as many pages as you need to hold all your pictures!
5. When you attach the album together, hang fun tags (from the pack of Heirloom Chipboard Accents) throughout the album to coorinate with each page. Peel the adhesive backing off of each tag so they do not stick to the pages of your album.
6. When all pages are made, punch a hole in the top left corner of each of the pages as well as the cardboard cover & attach album together using a binder ring.
7. Tie Heirloom Sashes around binder ring and also embellish by hanging a tag from the ring.
8. Now all you have left to do is add pictures & journaling and embellish! I plan on printing out a bunch of wallet sized pictures from my Thanksgiving adventures this weekend and adding them to the album. Then I plan on adding an embellishment or 2 around each picture. I will be using more Heirloom Chipboard Accents or maybe a few Heirloom Epoxy or Heirloom Badges.
Leave a comment telling us what you will fill this album up with! Winner announced tomorrow.
Have a great Tuesday...time to start thawing out that turkey!
This is so cute! I will definitely make one of these and take it to our family thanksgiving lunch. I'm gonna have everyone write something they are thankful for and add a picture. Thank you for sharing!
